I fell in love today. I took the time to look at the KORE suspension and read up about it. I love it, I want one!!! Of everyhting I've seen, this system fits what I have in my head about how I want my truck better than any of the others. I love the fenders too.

I know the KORE stuff isn't cheap, but I can't seem to find prices for the various kits. I've also discovered that some of the kits aren't carried by dealers and only found reference to them on KORE's site. I like the Unlimited, but I do want to keep my ability to tow and carry weight, so one of the other kits will have to do. I saw one on KORE's site called the "Technical" series. This kit gives a slight increase in lift over the other kits so you can fit larger tires. I think all the other kits state 35" tires and I want to run 36"-37" (MT ATZ's, which are stated to be 36" in the size I want). The site says "Deaver progressive springs". I'm hoping this isn't the same thing that is on the Ultimate kit as that won't be good for towing andcarrying weight.

Either way, does anyone know the prices on the various kits? I'm guessing the Technical series is probably gonna be around $5,000 for the suspension kit alone ????

 

the Kore isn't a lift at all it's a suspension system. It will give you about 3" of height to they get offended when people call their kits a lift
The Unlimited series is around 11K. The Tech is close to 8K and I believe the race series is closer to 5K. You can also get into a Kelderman for a cool 10K or more which would be the ultimate set up for towing. I agree, they have some sweet stuff but, no necessarily the best ride.

Some guys at another forum did a comparison between the Kore, Carli and Lorenz kits. The Lorenz kit won in every category. They didn't use the best of all the systems but, the most affordable between them all. The best thing about it is, the Lorenz system is cheaper than the kits it was compared too.

 

The comparrison triton is talking about was done on the TDR site, although as they said each truck had other mods which may or may not have affected the outcome of the comparrison. As they mentioned it all depends on what your looking for in a "suspension" system. I have the Kore Chase, I went with it due to the fact I spend 80% or more on goat trails with moderate to heavy washboard, before I installed the system the a$$ end was trying pass the front end and I had a hell of a time keeping the back wheels on the ground. Now after installation I can cruise the washboard ( albeit the low to moderate stuff .. safely ) with confidence and control!The Chase system runs about $2500.00 Cdn and is relatively easy to install yourself. As for running 35" tall tires... I couldn't,not without rubbing on the mud flaps, fender flares and back side of the fender, so I'm running 33x13.5x20 on 20x10 rims. I've had lifted trucks before and in MHO I will never run a lift kit again, they are strickly for show unless your willing to put even more cash to work on the suspension side of things!

As mentioned before, it's not just a lift. Your ride, handling, and control, will be greatly improved.

 

I was the one w/ the Lorenz Suspension system at the camparison test. All three (Carli/Kore/Lorenz) are good systems. All have different levels of suspensions systems. You have to decide on your driving needs. If you go w/ the KORE Techinical or Unlimited series. Then you better race that truck fulltime or you are wasting your money. You will never use the full potential of that truck. If you are a 70% on road daily driving and 30% off road moderate driving then The Carli Starter System, Lorenz Bilstien 5100 System or SAW 2.25 System and KORE Recon or Chase Systems. They range from $1,085 to $2,500. All will accomadate 35" tires and 37" can be run w/ the KORE Chase and Lorenz SAW 2.25. It's all in the wheel backspacing for rubbing. The stock wheels work good and I have no rubbing w/ 35" tires. I could go up to 37" tires w/ stock wheels, but then again I will lose wheel travel unless I got fibergalss fenders. Then anything is possible.

As for the full rear leaf set up. The Deaver full leafs on the Carli and KORE sytems you do lose some OEM weight capacity for towing 5th wheel or heavy loads in the bed. The Lorenz Dual Purpose Leafs (full leafs) still have OEM specs for that. Sean has removable bumpstops you can clip in if your towing or hualing heavy. If you want to play off road or daily driving. Then unclip the bumpstops and have more movement to soak up the rougher terrian, highway expansions, undulations, etc. No matter what if you haul or tow heavy your back end will still sag. You will need air bags. Either Firestone or the new Carli Air Bags work great.

Yes, I'm aware the Kore system is a suspension system and nota lift (that's why I called it the "Kore suspension"). I mentionedthe extra lift of the Technical series because that's how Kore describes it on thier site.

I'm not necessarily lookingfor a setup thatI need a step ladder to get into the truck. I like how the Kore system works and what it does. The ability to drive the washboards and other things like that andstill have the truck controllable. I live on a dirt road and it constantly has washboard and potholes and the like (so much for my tax dollars and the increased vehicle registration fees....they don't take care of this road and I often have to call and gripe until they send out the crew to grade it and smooth it...they're supposed to do it on a regular basis).

I do like the fiberglass fenders from DRC as well. I think those are required to run 35" tires onthe Kore system (at least that's what they imply base don what I read).Anyway, I'll go have a look at the Lorenz systemtoo.

 

You'll have no problems clearing 35's with Kore's systems. If you're running the 37's, you'll need fibreglass fenders with their Chase, Recon, or Race series.

 

I've got a Recon and I needed to trim my fenders just a touch to completely clear 35's. As far as the system, I'm extremely pleased with its performance.
