My little buddie died the other day ....
nice set up mayfair! i have something along the same lines except my seaclone protein skimmer is JUNK! i am only running it for air purposes because when i had my air stone in there my octopus always cup'd the air and i heard that if it get into its mantle its bad news octopus. i have the fluval 404 for my filter and its AMAZING! i had a full reef set up preivously and got bored of that so i sold most of my live rock, all fish and left over corals that survived and my vho lighting and went the octopus route, figuring i can always change it up again in the winter months when i dont work. i have heard many good things about keeping them but it was challenging. its pretty easy once everything is set up and running as long as you keep amonia's and nitrate/nitrite down. i do find it easier to run a bigger tank comapred to smaller. i have had tanks since i can remember and ive have just about everything you can imagine in them, fresh and salt. the octopus and my atlantic sting rays were probaly my favorite. although i have never done a shark which would be cool for a while! good luck on your next one mayfair!
