Default 5.7, 5.9 or 6.7?

I have a Hemi 1500 and have asked aout upgrading the suspension, but it has come down to price and the costs to upgrade my 1500 make a good down payment on a 2500/3500. I havea fewquestions before i drop a 45K loan.

First What engine is best? I Love my Hemi but it does crap out in gas milage when i load it up. I am leaning towards getting the 6.7 (hence why i post in cummings section) I like the 6 speed auto! I've driven 3 configurations (5.7 w/5sp, 5.9 w/4sp, 6.7 w/6sp all auto) I want the 6.7 but i also want some modability. How much can you mod the engine? (things like CAI, Exhaust, Chips, Turbo boosters, ect)

Second Main question, has anyone made or know some who has made a cummings Power Wagon? Basically a Cummings w/ Lockers, disconecting sway bar, winch, ect). Also can mods like this be done on the 6.7 power train?

Next, QC with long bed or Mega? I love my long bed, i can haul a lot more with it. Is it worth giving up the extra feet for the cab room? I've seen both and the mega canfit a twin sizematress in the bak seat and i like it.

Finally, should i go with the 2500 or 3500 (single wheel rearaxel). I don't have a need for a FULL DUELY. besides it will not fit in a lot of the tight spaces i back into. I've noticed the difference between the 25 and 35 is around $1,500. Does the 35 have that much worth of suspension and capacity upgrades from the 25 or am i better saving the $1,500?

Your imput is greatly appreciated!

Thank You
-Randy

P.s. if their is anythign else of importance that i need to know about before going through with the purchase, PLEASE let me know. I am tough skinned so don't worry about hurting my feelings by calling be crazy. ( I already knowI am). I'm not in a rush to buy, i'm looking for late Nov early Dec when e.o.y. rebates kick in.

Well how much do you plan on pulling? The 5.9 is a great engine that has a lot of mods availiable to it. They have a mega cab conversion kit that has a long bed mega cab. It will defianatly be worth it if you can afford it. It is very able to make a power wagon type of truck with a cummins. They have lockers and many other things that can make the cummins out preform the hemi power wagon. The only difference between a 2500 and 3500 is the 3500 has an extra leaf spring. No matter what your desicsion I am sure you will be happy.

Thank You! I'm pulling my 2 older cars to auto shows mostly. I try and hit atleast one a month. My future plan is to get a 5th wheel to take camping. That is the other reason i want to upgrade. I didn't know you can longbed a mega. i will have to look into it. Although it does sound EXPENSIVE :-S. With only an extra leaf i will go with a 2500. I'm sure i will be happy to, but this is a lot of money, and for me is a major decision. I will not be able to trad ethis truck in for a VERY long time. So i want to make sure the truck will last for many years to come.

Thanks again for your input!

I may be wrong but when he refers to the 5.9, I believe he means the gasser not the diesel.

Isn't the 5.7 the Hemi and the 5.9 the Cummins?
