Got a P 0191,

what were you doing at the time???

it is probably one you could just clear out and see if it returns, if it does let us know

 

I have an 07 Ram 5.9 and I got the P0191 and P2509 codes at the same time. My error codeshappened along with a cloud of white smoke when I started the engine. (It only happened once.) But the engine light cleared next time i started the engine and the codes have cleared now, too. So, I don't know.

Here is where you can look up the TSB's and maybe find a bulletin for your year and model to learn more about it.

 

It is a 2006, 2500 (should have included that before).

I don't actually know what was going on when it first came on. My father-in law brought it back to me like this last week. I have had some other codes come up in the past, and they all went away on their own. This one seems like it is taking forever to clear itself.

Drew: How do you clear them out? Disconnect the battery for a bit?

Just disconnect the battery for a few mins, I think 10 will work

 

TSB # 18-032-06 addresses this issue. It involves "flashing" the powertrain control module. Should be covered under your 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty. If out of warranty you may have to pay some. Go to your dealer with this TSB number and have him look it up.

I had that code with less than 1000 miles. I didn't notice any change in mileage or performance.

Took it to the dealer. They told me I already had the latest flash and everything tested ok.

All they did was clear the code and it hasn't returned.

 

Same problem with mine![:@]Code P0191. The fuel filter was just changed when I changed the oil/filter. This is the first Dodge I have owned. Mine is a '06 2500 4x4, 5.9L. Gotta love the motor!Anyone have any ideas on this, or other experiences with same. I even disconnected the batteries to clear the light, but didn't work. I guess maybe the sensor is next, unless I put another new fuel filter in. Help...............[] JT2500

 

you can run by your local auto parts store and they should be able to hook their OBDII reader to your truck and clear the codes. if not after 5 full starts the light will go out just cause the condition is no longer present.

unhooking the battery doesnt work on these computers. they have non-volitile memory to retain this type of info. only eracing them with an OBDII of 5 full starts will get rid of the code.
