Default Turning Key Beep Off ?

Was wondering if anybody else with an '07 has had a problem turning the "Key Beep" off when locking the doors with the key fob?

I have done what it says in the manual to a tee as far as I can see but I can not get it to stop the beep when the doors are locked.

IS there a trick?

Thnaks,

I couldn't get it to work either. I ended up going to the dealership and having them turn off this feature using their computer.

here's the instructions you need......

perform this operation while standing outside your truck

hold the lock button down for 4 seconds or more but, less than 10 seconds.

After 4 seconds while continuing to hold down the lock button, press the panic button.

release both at the same time. You should be good to go.

I tried this like 40 times. I finally stopped after my neighbor flipped me the bird and told me to shut the **** up.

I saw another thread that addressed this problem, can't remeber where I saw it but it was limited to certain 07 models. The solution was to take it to the dealer and have them do it through the computer. I have the same issue. I stood there like a fool following the directions to the letter and it not working. Have an 03 Dakota that I did it on first try. Next time I have to go for something else I plan on having it turned off.

Thanks Guys. I'll have the dealer do it when I take it in to have the fast Idle turned on, cuase it does not work per the key fob way for me either.

Try this....
HORN CHIRP DISABLING / ENABLING
The horn chirp can be toggled using a scan or by using the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter that is already programmed to the vehicle.
To DISABLE (cancel) the horn chirp feature:
1.
Enter the vehicle and close all doors.
2.
Fasten the seat belt (this will cancel the seat belt chime).
3.
Turn the ignition to the ON position.
4.
Press and hold the LOCK button for 4 seconds. Within 6 seconds with the LOCK button still depressed, press the UNLOCK button. When a single chime is heard, release both buttons.
5.
Turn the ignition OFF.
6.
Turn the ignition ON or wait 60 seconds.
7.
Test the horn chirp feature by pressing the LOCK button.
If a chime is not heard, program mode was canceled before the feature could be disabled. If necessary, repeat the procedure.
To ENABLE the horn chirp feature, repeat the above procedure.
