Default Info on overhead error (need oil change)

Visited my dealer today and asked if he had heard of new TSB to cure the overhead error (need oil change). He said no. I asked him to install "version B" and that would clear computer and clear this message. He tried. Came out and said "Found internal fault in electronic overhead module. He ordered the part.
Maybe this is where everyone is coming up with that error.
Go figure.

Drew,
You missed the point. The error messages are coming on in error. Manual states oil changes every 7500 miles. Most folks lights are coming on anywhere from 2500 to 4000 miles. You change your oil and light stays on.

Mymessage came on at 2000 and cleared like it was supposed to. Am waiting for the dealers response now that I believe a problem exsists in the system. This forum has added validity to my concern. What is a version "B"?
No! I do not want to change the oil at 5000 miles, will follow the Owners for that issue.
If we have enough input to this oil change message, then it can be fixed when the problem is isolated.
Interesting that on some unitsthe messagedoesn't reset.

I don't know how the overhead decides it's time to change the oil. My wifes Toyota van just uses mileage[:'(]. I have heard that the GM's use an actual sensor in the oil to decide when to change oil.

OKI

Version "B" is just short for an update from a version"A" also with some numbers in the name.... Was a TSB issued about May that fixed some re-gen problems.
