take some stress off, take it to the dealer for service. maybe they will do a ride along with you to listen for the noise.

quite frequent and lasts maybe 10-15 seconds at a time.
Does it do it when your turning or all thie time? Maybe the fans hitting the shroud?

Does it happen at slower speeds, like when you accelerate from a stop light it starts slowly then builds up until about 20 or 30 mph it quits?

I would get it to the dealer before the 1k runs up! I have heard torque convertors make similar noises. Is it an automatic? Is the noise high pitched or low (is the fan runnig fast with the straw or slow)?.It could be something getting into the ring gear at the starter. Does the power steering have plenty of fluid?

Good luck
Jim

Hm, straw in a fan, that's a good description. I wonder if we're chasing the same noise. I get a noise similiar to what you are describing when I'm slowing down. Never at high speeds, only when I get down to 20-25 with light pressure on the brakes until I come to a stop or take my foot off the brakes. Heavy braking it won't do it. Haven't quite run it down yet. Every time I think I have it figured out I run into another dead end.

I hate chasing noises down, they can be absolutely painful to locate.

Yes it starts off at slow speeds usually, then dissappears until about 20-30, then sometimes it'll do it around 50mph as well.

It's a 6 speed manual, Yes it sounds like the ("Straw in Fan") Fan is moving fast. Does it all the time whether i'm turning or not.

Also Menthos, Mine seems similiar, however mine does it whether i'm braking or not.
