You guys seen that extended cap on the tailgates of the 1500's; Looks sorta like a small spoiler. I thinkI read somewhere that dodge put that thing on the 1500's for help with the slip stream and it assists in the mileage department. Does anyone else know whatI am talking about and can anyone confirm its actual function. I don't think dodge would have put on that much extra plastic for no good reason. If it is indeed for a mild mileage improvement on the 1500's has anyone considered "sourcing" one and seeing if it made a differance on our rigs?
My neighbor that works at the dodge truck plant said the 1500s got them for a slight increase in fuel milage as you stated so that they can claim a certain MPG rating to hang with competitors such as the half ton chevy's and fords. I doubt that it would very noticeable if at all. They kinda look cool though
