A word of advice from someone who used a grinder on a set of wheels to get them to fit. Take them to a machine shop and have them take down the centers with a lathe or something a whole lot more accurate than a grinder. My deal was in an emergency since I had badly bent a rim, but the grinder didn't make a perfect circle of the center and the balance on the wheel was messed up and ended up with a bad shake under speed.

Do you suppose acylinder hone on a drill would produce acceptable results. with carefull measurements it may be possible to have them all at a consistant diameter.
I have not heard back from the party that was selling so the deal may be dead but there does seem to be a few out on the market and for the right price may be a good way to get wider rims and cheep rubber.

No. More like it was an uneven grind and when they went to put the wheels on the balance stand they wouldn't clamp up evenly due to the centers being irregular.

but if some one wanted to do it with a grinder they could use the dyna beads or equal and it would eliminate the need to go on a balance machine
