I have a 2001 cummins and need some advice... I bought a used bully dog computer for my truck used and realized they forgot to send the adapter... well i ordered the new adapter and probably greatly over paided..... Should i try to sell it back and get a better one under THESE circumstances or not. The only mod at this moment i have is a 4" exhaust. I have been granted the opportunity to buy bosch stage 4 injectors for 100-200$ and about 50$ i think to install, should i do it? Can a bully dog and an exhuast handle that? Will my fuel pump crator? I am also thinking about an intake or just a NAPA replacement filter because the inlet on the turbo restricts air no matter what so why get a bigger intake tube? PLEASE let me know your opinions.. Also will it kill my fuel economy with a stock tubro and fuel pump? and is this a good deal?

the combo of the bully dog and the injectors will indeed roast your turbo. one of the first thing I would do would be to replace the stock filter canister mounted lift pump if you havent already.

the one thing I would be worried about that bully dog would be if it was sold and it was vin locked. seen this before, not very pretty.

 

well is it an auto tranny ? gotta know that. and stage 4 injectors are what...150hp ? i dont know much about the bullydog but i have a 2002 cummins and i am in love with my edhe juice with attitude. mine is also automatic trans and i have 4" turbo downtube to 5" straight piped stacks and just threw a bullydog air filter where my filter box goes, and uised the existing intake tube. since i do have the automatic i only run my edge on level 3 which is about 40+hp because i believe the stock trans wont want to hand much more for long...it sucks that the trans has to be replaced, and beefed up in order for me to actually do whast i want with this truck. but its a reality and has to be done or ill b broke down on the side of the road.

 

its a five speed..I was going to do the edge juice with att. but thats to much money....i want three things..... power/smoke/fuel economy.... Dont care about high end power or towing power because it already has more than enough of that.... I dont plan on pushin it hard long... I just want it to stand up to in town red light green light stuff......lol i like to dump smoke on cars as i blow them away.... I could care less about top end speed or power.... anything over 70-90 is pointless to me..... so is towing..... I pull for my big trialors just on ocasion..... led my to the direction....... well the bully dog is a tourque dog..... its a wired computer unit...... Thanks!

 

i would get a aftermarket lift pump before starting major fuel mods.just my 2cents
