I hate when tires do that. Had one lose tread then slowed down and had another mile to go and it blew right when we got to a stopping point. Luckily it was on a trailor with duals
Cowboy, I am assuming this was on a trailer of some sort. I stopped by the dealer that sold me my camper, and they told me to check my trailer tires for proper markings. It seems a BUNCH of trailers were shipped with "LT" tires instead of "ST" tires. Someone correct me if I got it wrong. Anyway the tires were not trailer specific and the result is tires coming apart and tearing up the trailer they were mounted on. Check what type of tire you have there, if it is the wrong type, the trailer mfg is obligated to replace it with the right type.
Yes it is a trailer tire. I can't give you guys anymore details because I am trying to get the tire mfg to pony up the new tire and pay for the damages to the trailer. I can tell you that this was a G rated tire (14 ply) it was rated at 110psi and had close to that in it when I took it off the trailer. If they don't make it right, I'm going to file a complaint with the CPSC next.
