So just a good standard 15W-40 then? That should save a dollar or two on this first oil change then..

I run ordinary off the shelf rotella 15-40. change every 6 months or when I remember

Theres seems to be a "few" too many miles on my rig to run synthetic oils any where.
bajafun, did you use Rotella 15-40 for all of your 347,000mi??? Cause if you did, I'm stickin too it

I'd get the drain plug and one of these containers and do your oil changes yourself, that'll save some real bucks in the long run. there are alot of guys using this particular plug and like it. No fears of knocking it off for me either. it's tucked up there pretty high.

so for the 27K i have put on it, its used rotella.
unfortunately the truck has 320000 on it when i picked it up. the mechanic whom i bought it from used rotella and thats what i ahve used since. its about a buck less than the others by volume. walmart carries it in quarts too.

Well , I guess there isn't much wrong with old fashion conventional oil. Not to me anyways. Can an aux oil filter be installed with conventional oil? or is it not worth it?
