Diesel Heater???
Does anyone have any information on these? I heard they tie into the factory fuel system and burn only a small amount of fuel to keep the coolant nice and warm during harsh winter months?
Any help on tech or reading materials would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I don't know of any heater that burn fuel to keep the collant warm, but there is an electric heating element already installed in your truck. You just need a cord that plugs into the heating element on one side and to an elecrical outlet on the other. Dodge installs the heating element but does not include the cord unless your truck has the winterization package. www.Genos.com, Ebay, your local dealer can get you the cord.
Hope this helps

no armour is right. Im a heavy equipment mechanic and we install them on semi trucks. They are called espar or pro heat. look them up on google. they tie into your fuel tank where they draw small amounts of fuel. they r lil diesel burners and they have built in water pumps that draw amperage from your battery and in turn they circulate coolant through your block. the only draw back is that you lose battery power over time.
SpLaT - The well testing business is good so far this year. We had a few set backs in the spring but i think those are over with now seeing as we have some snow here now in Chetwynd / Tumbler Ridge, BC area... Down on Sukunka Rd.
sanddragonslayer - Just called my dealer and the price on the heater in the accessories book is roughly $1625.00 CDN.. Installed!

Seems more economical to me, the kit comes with a 7 day timer. I could program it to run from midnight to 5am, thats when i leave for work! It only burns .2 Liters per hours, so 5 hours is 1 liter and diesel is only 99 cents per liter here.
Versus
700-800 Watts of electricity for 5 hours? I think electric is more expensive way to go!
