My Kid just came home with a test he took in school and here is one of many questions that I had no clue what in the hell they were talking about...how about you.

During cell division, mitochondria may be found in great numbers around the fibers that attach the centrioles to the sister chromatids. After cell division, the mitochondria are spread evenly throughout the cells. Explain why this happens.

believe it or not, the schools actually advance what they teach kids now a days. although we are still way behind other countries [:@]

I rememeber biology, but not anything that would answer that test question.

 

cell division is like sex and mitochondria are like our little swimmers....all in one area (our sack). after sex (cell division) our mitochondria are spread evenly over the backs of centrioles and her sister chromatids. or maybe i just saw a movie about that....i'm getting older and confusing things now.

I think you are right, because I don't remember anything about that stuff from school, then again it has been a few days ago.
As far as the being behind...I think you may be right. Not to twist this into something it is not, but people complaining aboutpeople fromother countriestaking all of the "good jobs" need to step back and look, that maybe it is because they are better educated.

Seriously, the only words that were familiar to me were cell division and mitochondria.... they didn't teach those other words in the 70's.
