Cummins layoff
Just got word that the Walesboro plant is going to layoff 100 temps do to lower production from Dodge, should last the rest of the month.

hum. . .lower production generaly means higher prices. . .supply and demand
also makes me wonder if people have cought wind of the teething issues the 6.7'sare having, thus people are wanting the 5.9's

Only service parts are being produced for the 5.9, it is no longer in production.

it should still be in production but only in limited numbers for the AG market. . .these are great engines for combines and mineing equipment.

Those ag engines are made in Rocky Mount N.C.

I'm just saying the 5.9 ISBe we know of wont be in production. . .however the 5.9 ISB for other markets will still be made, just other markets.

Maybe it's just a rumor ... but someone told me that Mercedes would be making the Ram engine in a few years.

That might have been a possibility IF Daimler-Benz still owned Chrysler, but now Cerberus owns Chrysler, so I'm thinkin they will stick with Cummins.
