RE: Anyone know what this means??
ATF +4 is synthetic
the manual tranny is "supposed" to be maintenance free. . .but I change mine out ever 30K wether it needs it or not. the NV5600 is VERY picky when it comes to fluids. AMSoil makes a 5w-30 MTF that is designed just for the NV5600. pensoil syncromesh is also made for it. I have the amsoil in mine and I noticed better shifting and less noise right off the bat.
if you use the wrong fluid in the NV5600 the bearings will sieze up and the syncro's will prematurely wear out. even those that put in 75-90 had bearing issues and the syncro's crack on them.

no dipstick. . .you just need to remove the fill bolt and make sure the fluid is level with it. I cannot remember the size of the allen head off the top of my head.
if you do want to change the fluid pull one of the bottom PTO cover bolts out and let the fluid drain out from there. put the bolt back in and fill. I actualy filled mine through one of the higher PTO cover bolts and put in 5 quarts to make sure the front bearings get some lube.
