Sounds good then. If I can find a used(maybe new truck) with the 6.7 ill get it. Other then that I guess the 5.9L isn't bad either.

Ill keep yall updated!!
Thank you,
-Austin

Austin, I have the 6.7L Turbo Diesel. LOVE IT! I tow a 25 ft trailer and don't even know it's back there. I just went up to Palm Springs from L.A. and I got 15.8 mpg. Love the 6 speed. (real smooth) you also can select the gears you want on the column shift with your finger.
You have power up the Butt! and it's not loud like the 5.9 (it makes50% less noise).

If you go to www.carsdirect.com
you can builda truck andsee what it would cost you. I didthat and got mine for $34,059. Plus tax, license etc.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth!

My truck will be used as a daily driver, and a hauler for 14-30ft trailers. Also I will be lifting it 6-8in and put 37's on it. I am just scared with the problems out there on the 6.7L, but I will take the risk of getting it if I can!

I can not find a used 2500 with the 6.7L in it though. I will go up to a couple dealerships this week trying to find a SPORT 4x4 for a good price. Right now its about $35000.

So with a $35000 truck, minus the $18000 for my trade in.. I'm left with about $300 a month for 36months I belive. I can afford that.... But I would like a used truck, just not the 5.9L.

Thanks,
Austin

Hmmm. I thought the 5.9 was pretty quiet in the 3rd gens. The new 6.7 is even quieter? Bah...I like the sound of my 5.9, not too loud, but definitely lets you know it's a diesel. I'd hate to lose that.

I've had the 5.9 in an `05 2500 quad, auto. loved it. Lots of power, but as I was at the top end of my weight limit soI opted for a new `07 3500 duelly 6.7, 4.10, quad, 6sp. auto. w/ exhaust brake.

Love the `07 6.7 . Am towing a 12,000# plus 33' 5th wheel so we really needed the extra power and suspension. Love the truck. Was worth every penny of the $39,000.00

the only problem I know of with the 6.7's have been dealing with the emissions crap that is on the truck. the DPF clogs up or the truck doesnt go into regen mode properly. Dodge and Cummins have both been working together on this issue with no pointing of fingers unlike ford and International-Navistar.

Usualy a computer flash solves the problem, other times there is something mechanicaly wrong and dodge ponies up and fixes it quickly.

personaly. . .I would still give the 6.7 another year to cut its teeth. the 5.9Lhas always beenan awsome engine, granted the 48RE is only a 4spd, just the fact it is able to stay together behind the Cummins means something.

You can bet that with the Cummins name on it it has been run through every test they can throw at it, I cant see them short cutting anything. JMO

austin, I got the new 6.7. heres my take on it. I brought mine into the dealers a few times. the truck still runs fine, and if you tow, which I do. you'll love the new tranny. at least I do. it isin my opinion the workingequivalent to the allision tranny from the chevy duramax.BUT. since the new flashes they've put in. my truck is no longer the beast it was when I first got it in July. heres what I mean by BEAST. towing my 7000lb trailer in the past doing 50 mph. if i floored it , I can literally break traction and smoke my tires. i can also pretty much do a peel out from stand still for however long I wanted. Now ..........NO....the truck still has a boat load of power. itcan still pull my trailer fine. but no more smoking my tires like I use to. it just bothers me that I new what power I had, and what dodge has made me settle on now. if I drove it with all the new flahes in it and never knew the raw power it had. I probably would have been fine. but now I'm just a little @#$%@ at dodge right now. anyway thats my 2 cents worth.
