austin, I got the new 6.7. heres my take on it. I brought mine into the dealers a few times. the truck still runs fine, and if you tow, which I do. you'll love the new tranny. at least I do. it isin my opinion the workingequivalent to the allision tranny from the chevy duramax.BUT. since the new flashes they've put in. my truck is no longer the beast it was when I first got it in July. heres what I mean by BEAST. towing my 7000lb trailer in the past doing 50 mph. if i floored it , I can literally break traction and smoke my tires. i can also pretty much do a peel out from stand still for however long I wanted. Now ..........NO....the truck still has a boat load of power. itcan still pull my trailer fine. but no more smoking my tires like I use to. it just bothers me that I new what power I had, and what dodge has made me settle on now. if I drove it with all the new flahes in it and never knew the raw power it had. I probably would have been fine. but now I'm just a little @#$%@ at dodge right now. anyway thats my 2 cents worth.

WOW! I knew diesels had power but not THAT MUCH!!!! that amazes me!!!!
Man I want my diesel sooo much! My birthday is in just a month also!!(but I know my parents won't help me pay for a truck, still... I'm a dreamer)
So you had a bunch of power, then took it back to the dealer and they "detuned" it some?? why would they do that??

don't know? because my check engine light came on, and something about the particulate filter getting dirty. so they tried to make it so the filter won't fill up so fast, my guess is they detuned it. less power, less fuel burning, less the filter fills up.my guess is if you get the 6.7 now. you won't be able to smoke the tires that much anymore. It was really nice when your buddy pulls up next to you when your driving, rolls down the window, looks at ya, and you mash down on your ecelarator and you can still peal out while your both moving. NOW THATS POWER.

RE: 5.9 L vs 6.7 L
The 5.9 is a dependable truck and runs fine with plenty of power. In fact my brother in law bought an 07 5.9 puled it off the lot getting 18 mpg and has out run me in thegoat. (missed 3rd [:@]) I love my 6.7 but would have bought a 5.9 if I could have found one in Idaho.I could have got a 5.9 at home but I don't think my old Ford would have made the 1600 mile trip pulling my trailer without leaving me stranded.

Well I guess I can settle for the 5.9. I hate that it is a 4speed, that is the only thing that gets to me. Everybody is telling me how much power the 6.7L has, but have not heard much about the 5.9.
Also, I see your hooters girl says lewsiville, TX on it... I live about 5min away from that hooters. You live around here?
Thanks, Austin
