Default straight pipe

Thinking of taking the plunge after work and going to a local muffler shop to have the cat and muffler deleted. My question is will that increase my fuel mileage?

It didn't for mine, or if it did, it wasn't noticable. To me .5 mpg increase can be attributed to just about anything. The only thing I noticed, other than the sound, was when up around 60+ and then accelerating,it seemed to flow a lot better at top end. Could get to 70 quicker than I could before.

Mine is a 2005 5.9 auto with predator. Would a good drop in filter like the k&n or the amsoil nano help with mileage more. I am currently just using fram air filters.

My last tank yielded a wonderful 14.5 mph's hand calculated. I have been in a lot of stop and go traffic (33 miles one way to work takes a little over a hour to get there) and smoking people out I am sure is not helping it. but that was terrible and I need to see 17

I am thinking cat delete. then before emmisions get it put back on and then back off. when I can afford the aero I will get that in place of stock muffler. Sharx do you still have that other intake you mentioned to me a while ago?
