Honestly - Do you buy Citgo fuel ??
I know by now you've all seen the emails about how some dictator Chavez owns Citgo and is funneling all of the profits from his gas stations into arms to use against the USA. The email say's not to buy from him. We've all seen it, question is, how many people follow it? I'll be honest and admit that I buy from Citgo, but not because I don't care or because I want to finance a dictator. I buy from there because I KNOW there is a decent turnover of their diesel fuel. There's always people there because of price.
How about you guy's? Do you buy your fuel from Citgo?

I usally goto Irving or Mobil.... and the one place that i did goto.... a 7-Eleven.... had citgo... but stoped selling thier products... so now it's a no-name gas.....But I will admit I've used Citgo... I think those times were out of desperation...
I bought some diesel fuel from a Citgo once, only because it was the only thing available at the time. I never buy from Citgo when there is a choice, for the reasons that Mayfair outlined in his post.
Apparently according to the emails some of the Citgo's have changed their names to Petro Express in order to try and fool people. It's still owned by Chavez though.
I use them once last winter as they had the cheapest fuel at the time. But I no longer have to worry as they sold many of their stations across the USA. IIRC they now only have stations close to there own refineries.
I wish everyone was onboard with this whole ban thing. Unfortunately because their diesel fuel is priced right ( usually about 10 cents less a gallon ) just about everyone goes there. They're driven by the cost of the fuel, nothing else. I don't wanna chance getting a bad tank of fuel somewhere else because it's been sitting there.

not to get all political.. but as is the case with most mass-forwarded emails.. this one isn't all about facts.. i think chavez is anti-bush.. more than he is anti-american.. and there's a big reason he is anti bush..

(after being democratically elected).. "Chavez was briefly overthrown in 2002 by a U.S. sponsored coup made up of military and corporate interests, who were driven from power by mass unrest demanding the return of Chavez.
to me.. a democratically elected leader of a country.. isn't necessarily a dictator.. and it's understandable he has ill feelings towards a country that sponsored a coup to kick him out of office .... so don't have too much guilt when you fill gas at a citgo.. it was probably refined here in the usa.. and not buying it will hurt the american economy more than hugo's

Have you seen them ?
Basically they claim that not buying Citgo fuel hurts American workers. I guess enough people have stopped buying it, just not here in the city where most people are only driven by price and nothing else.
No Citgo's around here. Usually buy from either Flying-J or another station with high turnover. But not to get into a debate with anyone, if you look at what country the oil is being imported from, that will pretty much tell you if a dictator is being financed. I would say pretty much all imported oil is financing some dictator. It would be nice to see this country get completely away from importing oil and produce all fuel here.
