I don't know what to tell you about breakin it in but every diesel i've owned has been driven like I stole it from day one........don't know about the 6.7 though only ever had 5.9's.

With the exhaust from the DPF back you should be fine you just cant mess with that.....Straight pipe is a no go on those for right now even though someone posted about a DPF delete over on Diesel Truck Resource. I believe MBRP makes a DPF back exhaust for it so you could do that for now and maybe get some better sound out of it. I dont know how you would trick the DPF into keepin the truck out of Regen.

Either way welcome to the CTD family you will never own anything other than a CTD again
what is a DPF back exhaust? and what do you mean about tricking the DPF into keeping the truck out of regen?

sorry for all the questions, im new to diesels obviously, but i catch on fast...

so basically i could remove the stock muffler and replace it with a new one or a straight pipe from there back, but other than that, ive gotta wait until some company comes out with an aftermarket DPF or a way to trick the computer before i can really do any exhuast work on it?

You are 17, right? How did you afford that? I am 22, and I have a great job, and I can barely afford the 2nd gen Ram I am looking at.

well i know this is gonna peg me as the "spoiled kid" but my grandparents bought it for me. they called it a birthday/christmas/graduation present. i called it a birthday/christmas/graduation/marriage/anniversary/fathers' day(for18 years)/retirement present lol.

and the only reason i got such a nice truck is because ive kept my nose clean, shown my responsibility, held a job constantly from the time i was 15 up until now (dont have one anymore because im taking a class afterschool to get my EMT-B certificationthat leaves no time for a job), and kept decent grades in school. with the exception of the truck, ive worked for most of what i have.

so yeah i guess in a way i was spoiled a tad, but im not a total brat, i understand the value of hardwork, and realize that not everything in life is handed to you on a silver platter and that you have to work hard, save money, and spend wisely to be able to afford certain amenities.

its funny i used to want a 4x4 to go muddin, but now that i have this truck, i flinched even taking it down the dirt road and then spent 3 hours washing it immediately afterwards.
You'll get over it soon enough...

This, however, will take some time to fully embed itself beyond mere platitude... [8D] Sounds like you might be on the right track. Only time will tell if you really are.
