I just ran the coax for my cb yesterday...ran it out the rubber plug just to the left of the steering column and then clipped it into the holders where my fuel lines are down the drivers side frame...then up connected to a bracket on my backrack...running a 4ft tunable K40 antenna and the base is at the top of the cab...puts the tip I'm guessing somewhere between 10 and 12 feet above the cab and on the opposite side of the truck as my radio antenna...waiting for pics of my brothers CB mount in his '05 CTD to manufacture my mount...will mount just on the passenger side of the center console....having a Manual makes it a more interesting mount....

And I agree with the wise user about the distance between dual antenna's....according the owner of the CB Twenty in Goldsboro...former radio operator retired military....anything less than 8' between antennas will make them directional...ie not nearly as functional...he recommended if anyone wants to run duals have one be a dummy....

well as for the firestick, there are better antennas out there (Wilson comes to mind), but if that is what you already have, then use it, as far as what type of CB...well I have been outta the CB stuff itself for a while, but I think Galaxy seems to bea hot thing lately. I would stick with a decent radio and stay away from the radio shack or walmart type stuff, they are pretty much disposable.
I am located in Kalifornia, my buddy's shop is called Flash Electronics. If you can't find what you want/need I can get you in touch with him.
