ORIGINAL: Twoforme2

there are better antennas out there (Wilson comes to mind),

I would stick with a decent radio and stay away from the radio shack or walmart type stuff, they are pretty much disposable.
Well, it looks like I got it half right. I have the Lil Wilson antenna with a Radio Shack CB. I chose that CB strictly because of it's size. I wanted it to fit exactly where it is.

I never did SWR it though. How difficult is it to do?

Putting the antenna on the roof gets the best ground plane effect for the cb radio.
Thats where I have always tried to mount mine.
Iv got a Lil Wil mag mount on my 05 and it does a decent job of getting out.

My antenna works awesome where it is too, Now that winter is upon me soon though I am parking in the garage every night and I cannot leave the antenna on, there is barely two inches of clearance above the truck to get in as it is.

True, the garage height is another of the factors to why I may not be lifiting or putting much larger tires on, until I move to Florida that is, then all bets are off.
