Stupid question, re-oil the K &N Filter...what does that mean? what maintenance does the K & N filter require?

Every so often, just take the filter off, spray it down witht the cleaning spray and rinse in water. Once it dries, spray it down with the oil supplied, let it dry and reinstall. I've had mine 1 1/2 yrs and have only cleaned it twice [8D], it's still in great shape.

It's not difficult to clean the filter at all. the hardest part is waiting for it to dry. I usually take it off the night before I do my oil change, clean it, and then it has all night to dry by the fan. By the time I get up & change my oil, it's dry and ready for re-oiling. I clean my K&N every 5000 miles.

usafr, do you have the 63 series intake? Thats the one i have and i ended up taking mineoff, because it seemed that it allowed to much dust in. I was thinking about keeping the downtube and just getting a new paper filter rather than the oiled one. What paper filters are out there that will fit the down tube of k&n intake.
