Default Making my own cold front grill....

I'm making my own cold front grill, it just takes way too long for this truck to warm up, even with weather in the mid 50s to 60s. I'm going to take a sheet of galvanized steel (from duct work) and flatten it out, then attach it on the back side of the grill, that way I dont' have to cut it and shape it. I'm gonna cut a couple of small breather slits in it and try to louver them. I'm going to leave the two breather holes below the bumper uncovered (where the fog lights are). Reckon this will solve my problem? Anybody think I'm going to create other problems? Need your input!

I'm gonna try and rig up somethin just for that, maybe an adjustable panel on one side so i'd be able to adjust teh air flow without taking off the entire panel....maybe something hinged, not sure yet. I'm sure it'll be held together with bread ties adn duct tape anyway...lol. Hey, but for the specific type of metal im using, i.e. old air ducts, then duct tape WOULD be appropriate!!! w00t!

You really should be fine unless you are in stop and go traffic a lot.

damn tahts a beast of a truck you got lol. yea, just take sheet metal and wire it in behind the grill....no cutting to fit the shape or anything and it still looks good. just make sure you wire it up real good so it dont fly into the radiator and gash it

Isn't it also gonna kill your intercoolers efficiency? Any opinions about that?

intercoolers efficiency? please dear God let me know what that is...lol. I have half of it done right now due to lack of tools, I did the passenger's side first, since the tranny cooler is on teh drivers side. so farI saw a little difference in the truck's operating temp and my heater temp, it actually kept me warm within teh first 5 miles or so that I drove it

maybe u should do it only one side, if u block the flow of aire enterily it wont be that good, the air that enter the engine will be hotter which is not that bad but hey the air will be pretty much colder than in summer and it work great in summer.... id say monitor ur engine temp and if its stay whitin limits ill stick to that...
