Not a lover of Dodge/swap?
Hey.
I have been lurking around here for a long time (not really). I have always wanted a Dodge Cummins. I just can't spend the money on one to buy one. I do however have a pretty sweet truck though. It is a 1975 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4, 6" lifted, 35's, with a worn and tired 350 with a th350 tranny. Anyway, I love Cummins, and I love diesels. I was thinking, how hard would it be to put a Cummins engine into my truck? It is pretty much my dream truck, and I would be getting twice the gas milage. Does anybody have any comments or suggestions?

My buddy put a cummins/and drivetrane in a 1985 chevy dually. The only truble he had was , there is not quite enough room for the intercooler so he had to modify the grille to make it fit. The other thing is finding a 12 valve that is resonable. The best bet is a wreck with the whole running gear in tact. Good Luck
that would be sweet to see go down the road with a big pile of smoke shooting down the road!!

I would imagine if he could do it with that, it would be very possible to do it with a chevy truck.

I am going to doubt that it would be cheaper. The price in my area for an early 90's first gen cummins is in the 6-8k range. I can barely find a 2nd gen for under 10k. Anyway, this is my dream truck. I have always wanted and Cummins and this is the body style I love. My sbc 350 engine in my truck is tiny. I would think that a Cummins would fill it a little better. Thanks.
