Default RE: Daytime Running Lights

I'm not quite in the market for any performance mods yet(bully dog), so I am hoping that I can get the stock settings figured out.

In case you guys are wondering, the reason I am checking into the DRL's is that most of our salesman drive fleet trucks, and we just received an 08 1500 with the DRL's. Before this, I did not even know that Dodge ever offered this.
I have driven GM trucks/suburbans before this Dodge and since about 99 or so, all my GM's have had the DRL's.
Our company asks/requires is to have our lights on for safety at all times (mostly for our commercial trucks, but all the sales people are included).

I am here in Texas (Ft Worth/Dallas).
My 07 Ram is the best truck that I have had to date. It is 1 yr old this next week and I already have 50k on it.
I pull trailers with it fairly often, some really heavy loads (if I attached the pic right, this load was grossing 48k/truck, trailer, and load)

Thanks for the feedback, and I look forward to hearing back from the service guru(David?)

Step by Step... Hooked up to an 2008 1500, but I know that this can be done on 2006 and up.....

hook up STAR SCAN
turn on STAR SCAN
On first page that comes up select "ECU vew"
on next screen select "TIPMCGW" (Totally Integrated Power Module Central Gate Way)
on next screen select " Misc Functions"
on next screen select "Enable DRL"
then select "Start"
then select "Next"
then select "Enable"
then select "Finish"

Thats it.
When you crank the truck, the lights will come on.
The lights will not come on if the emergency brake is on. So if you are sitting still and want the lights to go off, just set the emergency brake....... Now go to your dealer and ask him to turn them on, when he says that it cannot be done, tell him you will show him how to do it if he will do yours for free. Hope this helps.....DAVID

I guess if I pulled a lot of weight regularly, i would first look at the helper springs (stock 3500 vs 2500 rear suspension) or definitely airbags.
I dont pull enough to justify spending the money either way.

Ok, the verdict is in:

I now have DRL's via the Dodge Service Dept. at Huffines Dodge in Lewisville, Tx. We hooked my truck up again and followed Davids instructions (see above) and it took all of 90 seconds to configure.
I bet you this is the only Dodge dealership in Dallas/FtWorth that knows how to hook up DRL's now.

Thanks to everyone for all the info, especially David.

Also, I picked up a set of Firestone airbags today. Didnt plan on it, but I had been thinking about it for the last few days.
