Actually it's 90 horse difference (rated). The newer trucks have been "turned up" some from the factory. Someone with more experience then mewith your yeartruck should answer the how to's for hot rodding yours.

If he has a juice then he has probably 80hp + over stock. The stick "feels" stronger to me b/c there is no torque converter to smooth out the power. I think you can get a edge for your truck too. But don't put too much extra on your stock tranny, or it will die. So will your buddies stock clutch, better warn him.

well i already have the juice with attitude, and i also changed my exhaust from 3.5" downtube to 4" downtube, and 5" all the way back, fully open, and did the intake. i need to get the fass because when i floor it on level 3 the fuel psi gets down to 2 psi, sometimes 1, and i NEED to order a rtranny sometime for it, but i kinda want to change it to 6 speed manual

Pretty much everything is different. They got differnt pistons, heads, turbos, and a whole new fuel system (except the crappy lift pump), different cam ect. Basically its a whole new engine.

The 600 series is a beast. It's taken some time to unlock it potential (Bob is still working on removing the RPM limiterbut hes has already had some success).I think the 3rd gens have more power potential with the stock injector pump/turbo/sticks than the 2nd gens.
