So, for the past month or two since I put in the FASS, I have been leaking fuel like crazy. Have bought numerous new hose clamps and tried them, have taken the whol system apart and bought NEW HOSES and put it back together and still no help. Have over 1000 spots all over my drive from leaking diesel. And today, over $150 later, took it apart for the 3rd time and FINALLY found that there was a LEAK AROUND THE WELD IN THE PART THAT ATTACHED TO THE FINTERNET! nowthat is some crap, and they are NOT going to refund my money as of right now! I have never heard of anyone having a problem with there weld, its just luck!

hopefully ill get SOME of that cash back!

 

thats total bull **** bro! you need to get on thier asses for that, i'd tell them your going to ruin their reputation if they don't help you out

 

dude if they don't give you some money back on this bs I can tell you that when if I decide to buy a CTD i'll be going with walboro (or walbro) the pump triton has I forget the name, even if they arn't as good as FASS but if that's how they treat customers over a faulty product ehn **** em. Post this in the vendor section and just light them guys up like you wouldn't believe.

 

There is an alternative to FASS... it is called Air Dog. Its sold at Diesel Performance among other places.

Strangely enough, Air Dog is the owned by the father and FASS is the son's company. (From what I can gather, they had a knock out drag out court fight over patents or somesuch.)

Are they going to replace the part with the leaking weld? If so that is all they are responsible for. I know you don't want to hear this, but the fact that you replaced parts instead of finding the leak to begin with is not their fault. Now a leaky weld, that falls into the "defect in material and workmanship" and should be covered. Not trying to be a smart azz just trying to give you a different view.

 

I have always been convinced that the FASS units were over priced. That is why I went with the Walbro in my setup. It costs about 1/4 the costs and performs the same. Yes it was a little bit harder to install, but if it dies, it is only $140 for a new one and 15 minutes on the side of the road to change it out. I changed out my pump, installed a regulator and replaced the fuel line with a combination of SS hose and 3/8 hard line, all with AN fittings (that don't leak), installed 2 check valves (so I can run 2 pumps)and still was about $150 under the price of a FASS unit.

Of course I'll be adding a second Walbro to my setup this winter and will dump the in-tank pump all together.

 

true and that is a good point..but to spend close to $700 on something like that, you would think that their welds could be atleast right...it was about 1/4 of an inch opening that you couldnt see unless you put a light up to it being that the part is black..i took pics and they said to weld it and we will deal with it later..soo i guess i see your point of view..but i would like to see what they say about it as well..love the system..its just that one peice and my luck!
