Default Fog lamps on with high beam.

Do not know if I was dreaming or not but does anyone remember a post about the dealers capability to download a code to allow the fog lights to remain on when high beam is selected? Is this even possible short of buying a module to allow this to happen?

Thanks for any input!

i've heard the same thing about a dealer being able to do it, though whether they ill or not, i can't say. in many states, if not all, it's illegal to run fog lights the same time ashigh beams, or so i've read on multiple sites. but, for $110 you can buy this module that does just that (unless you are in canada).

you can also get a bulb adapter to run brighter bulbs in your factory bulb housings:

the dealer can do it through the ECM but, will they is the question.

A bully dog programmer can do it too and a few other things the dealer can do i,e... high idle, door lock horn..etc.

I do have a Geno's Garage catalog and have seen the module but just wanted to see if the dealer could program. I went to the dealer today and they hooked up their computer to my truck but could not find the option. They were going to do some research as they have not heard of it either. Do you know were in the program you have to navigate to? I saw many options that were available.

I wouldn't know where they can look on the StarScan to make the adjustment. It's in there though.

Since the BD plugs into the OBDII port, it taps into the ECM just like the StarScan. It has several features to turn on or off like, the horn w/door open, high idle, door lock horn , fogs on with high beams and several others. All which should be able to be done at the dealer too.

Seems like the problem could be solved with a $10 relay. Interesting to know all of that can be controlled through the ECM. Is this the case on the 01's? or is it just the newer trucks?
