I was just curious if there was any power gain difference between the single and the split exhaust or is it mainly just a looks preference??

RE: single vs dual exhaust
No difference. Duals on an inline engine is dumb anyway. Well, except for stacks.[sm=badbadbad.gif]

RE: single vs dual exhaust
Generally speaking, your exhaust is only as good as its most restrictive component as far as performance is concerned. Installing dual mufflers/tailpipes won't matter if you have a single 3" pipe sitting upstream. As mentioned above, with an inline engine you only have one exhaust stream, going to duals downstreamwill only help in the looks/sound department.

also going too big will effect performance seeing as it is more surface area the exhaust gasses have to travel, thus looseing velocity. so your low end suffers.

RE: single vs dual exhaust
thanks for the info. I was gunna get stacks but due to mucho soot on the front of my racecar trailer i decided against it. And I'm getting full turbo back exhaust I'm not stayin with the stock piping into the muffler. And I know with the inline it only comes out one side of the motor so its not true duals its just split at the muffler. I was just curious if there was a performance edge one way or the other or if its mainly looks oriented so thanks for the info again
