Hey SinCity can you look down at the cars with your hydraulics up? j/k
your sig says you gotta 6.7 in that lil demon is that a typo for 4.7 or did you seriously cram the heart of a beast into it?
This isn't my first truck, and it probably won't be my last. I grew up in Colorado, used to go 4x4'ing quite a bit before I moved out here to Las Vegas. I hooked up with a local 4x4 group, but frankly didn't find desert driving anywhere near as enjoyable as the climbing/mudding/camping trips in Colorado. About a year after I moved here someone stole the truck & stripped it bare.I simply don't need a big 4x4 anymore, so Idecided to go with something else. A co-worker bought himself a Dakota R/T about 6 years ago, and I liked the package, so I ended up buying one for myself. Since then I've done different things, the one I'm driving now is actually my 4th Dakota R/T.

Dakota R/T's come with 5.9L/360ci V8's. Mine has been bored/stroked to 6.7L/408ci, plus it has a bunch of other engine goodies such as heads/cam/tb/manifold/etc,4.56 gears, and nitrous. No airbags or frame scraping on this thing, the ride height is governed by a Hotchkis TVS Suspension system.

Do you still have pics of your 4x4? If so let me see them if you put 1/2 the effort into that as you did the dak you must have had a beast.

Nope - I did most of my wheeling from 95-98 when I was attending CSU in Ft. Collins, that was before the digital camera revolution. My trucks were function over form, as a ex-military/college student I couldn't afford the same sort of stuff I bought for my R/T's. They had some decent 4x4 equipment, but were comparatively ugly as hell - I was thrashing them off-road, made no sense to buy "pretty parts". Based on that history, the only trucks I truly hate are the ones where someone buys a bunch of expensive stuff, then never drives the thing. Right across the street from where I work is a shop that specializes in "bling trucks" - big trucks with big lifts/tires, and lots of chrome. You know the guys are never driving them off-road, they're never using them to haul stuff, they're just attention ****** with deep pockets. Even with all the stuff I've put on my R/T's, they all get driven, and I use the bed to haul stuff on a pretty regular basis.

My CTD see's off highway weekly. My old toyota was a beast off road and i finally got rid of it when I snapped my front pinion gears. it was far from pretty.

The thing is, I can't bring myself to buy one when I get to drive them for free. Don't even have to pay for the fuel. Heck no monthly payment, no insurance payment and free fuel. That is so hard to beat. Only downside is that I can't mod them the way I would if I owned one. Gonna talk with th owner on Monday to see if I can upgrade my demo...
Shhhhh. SMARTY[sm=ts.gif]

Now that would be the ultimate test. You ren the smarty on your demo truck and if they find it then you know.
