Ya, mine does that too. Usually when first starting up. It's just the compressor clutch engaging. It probably gets moisture or whatever on the clutch when it sits overnight which is what causes the initial crunch. Mine only does it when starting after sitting for overnight though. I had several other trucks/cars that would do the same thing and they never went bad.

Well I got mine to do it 2-3 times today just playin with it....I don't think its a big deal mine wasn't very loud though....can't notice w/o listenin for it

Mine does it too. Its still just truckin along. Hopefully it doesn't die on me. I will probably run it into Dodge and see what they have to say while its under warranty.

Thank you much for your time and responses. I think with the amount of others who also hear it, as well and the dealer's assurance, it is mostlikely normal.

It seems reasonable that engaging the components could produce the sound, and it is consistant. Next time I am near the dealership I will swing by and have them check one more time. Just for the warm fuzzy.
