Winter diesel fuel?
This is the first diesel I have owned. I live in Colorado and am wondering about #1, #2 and blended fuel. Do most stations carry a blended fuel in the winter or do they carry #1? When do they usually start that? Is the pump labeled or how do you know what you are getting? If you still have #2 in your truck and you are going somewhere cold, should you put in an additive? Any help you can give on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks
What year Ram do you have? ( fill in your sig when you get a chance )
I don't think they labe the pumps with anything other than ULSD or LSD. I don't think they have to label it "winter mix" or not. Either way, you should be fine.

in the winter there is some #1 mixed in to lower the cloud point of the fuel so as the temps go down there is a lower chance of you trying to start your engine on a tank of jell-o.
you will notice lower fuel mileage and your truck not being as "peppy"

Is there any way to know if the station has the blended fuel? I typically don't drive my truck during the week so, with a 34 gallon tank, I might not fill up for a month or so. I would just like to know that the next time I fill up, it is with the blended fuel.

Nice to see you back Mayfair. You weren't yourself when your truck wasn't running right.
