I'd like to know which cummins dealer has a cord for $11.62, I'll order from them. Here in Utah, the cummins dealer charges $45 and NAPA charges $52 and the local dealer (which is out of cords) charges $44.95.
Thanks
When I bought my cord from Dodge they did not have one in stock so when it came in 2 days later, it was a Cummins cord, in Cummins packaging that they got direct from Cummins in the Twin Cities. The only difference between the Dodge and Cummins cords is the Dodge cord has the fancy cord clips that fit in the holes in the frame and the Cummins cord does not.ORIGINAL: NewDodge2007

it's going to have to get pretty damn cold to get me to use my block heater.. over the holiday my truck had to sit outside at my mother-in-laws.. it was 12 degrees when i started it.. i let the heating element light go out.. hit the starter and it fired up effortlessly.. there was ice and half an inch of snow on the windshield.. so i made a point of watching out the window as it warmed up (from the warmth of the house).. engine was idling at 1000rpm and stayed there till i tapped the peddle 10 minutes later.. it took less than 5 minutes to melt off the lower half of the windshield..about 10 to clear theice completely...i was impressed.. i really thought it would be more cold blooded than that..

The Cummins already have the block heater element installed. You only have to buy the cable. I just got mine from Geno's Garage. They were cheaper than my dealer. I paid $30 for it from Geno's as opposed to $42 plus tax from my dealership.

Isn't the "cold weather" kit the one w/ the battery blanket & fuel line heaters and such? I don't think that much is needed unless your getting north of the 49th parallel. ORIGINAL: Aero Ram

The block heater is a nice feature to use though for the rest of us that live in the cool weather

Thanks for the responses!
I finally got my cord off eBay from sam_the_diesel_man. He sells them for $18.95. Lot better than $45 from the dealer.

Good deal,
And Froger I think that kit does come w/all that crap, I just wanted the cord if it was cheap so it would be that much easier on it when I go homefor whengets down below freezin. Decided I'll just have the dealer activate my High Idle on the truck.... not to worried bout it..
