high idle***solution found!!!!***(see edit)
hey
i usally spend my time in the 2nd gen thread however my dad has a 06 cummins so i thought i would come over here to see if i could find an answer
he is wanting to know how to make the truck have a high idle, he lives in northern Alberta Canada, and its already -29*C where he is at so the truck spends a lot of time idling, he said he tried the old trick of sticking a stick between the seat and the petal but the truck just idled down after a few minutes
anyways i have tryed searching but come up with nothing (however I'm beginning to think my search doesnt work) but if anyone knows how to do this please let me know, thanks
EDIT!!!
for anyone looking how to solve this problem (not being able to activate the factory high idle because you don't have cruse) here is a solution
DSG Canada ( www.dieselservices.com ) makes a module that can installed into the truck to set it to idle where ever you want

If his truck is an automatic transmission he just needs to go to his local dealer and have them enable his high idle feature. Then he can turn on the cruise control hit set and it will idle at 1100 rpm, then hit accel and it will rise up to 1500. If his truck is a standard transmission he will need to get a pin from Cummins for the ecm plug, insert the pin in hole #22 plug "B" and attach it to a ground. Then go to delaer and have feature enabled and it will work the same as above. BTW if automatic he will want to idle in neutral instead of park, because the Dodge trannys don't pump fluid in park.
It's controlled by the cruise control....so if he doesn't have cruise installed it's has to be done also.

for the manuals all you ahve to do is get a lead from cummins. . .nick knows the part number and put it into pin 22 ECM plug B, then ground that to the frame, have the dealer enable the idle function and walla
