My buddies drive ford and have seen me on this forum and tried to find ford ones....I never hear anything good about them,they've logged into many dodge ones and tried to find previous ford owners for answers...

You can just recondition them your self. Just a couple seals is all you need. I've done about 60 of them things. Usually when they get that bad they set a fault code (or at least IH's do).

 

white smoke and poor performance like thatis usually attributed to a faulty glowplug. A common problem with Powerstrokes. With all the new "biodeisel" and low sulfur requirements could cause it. It's no longer recommended getting your fuel from truckstops on the highway as they do not meet the PS 6.0 requirements. My '01 PS wouldn't let me fit the larger sized nozzle from the truckstops in the filler.

glow plugs would only effect startup. . .once the head has warmed up the fuel will ignite.

BTW, Ive gotten a GM 6.2 to start-up on only 3 working glow plugs and a rag drenched in gasoline.

 

I got kicked off because I was asking about choppin off the CAT ...and muffler.
