I can relate to your experience there. As you mentioned withyour power surge rapidly climbing, also consider the fact that your momentum is carrying much more weight and mass. Our brakes on these trucks are good, but I wonder if there are aftermarket applications to greatly enhance or boost our braking ability?

Glad you were able to power down and recover. Not a good timefor an accident. I've noticed that this time of year there are more motorists on the road, and everyone is driving like they're an hour late to their destination. Let's all slow down a bit and survive this holiday season. We have more time ahead of us to accomplish our tasks. I'm in no hurry to reach the finish line!

Drew, would the turbo being "wound up" cause the delay stopping? Kind like turbo lag or something

no. . .boost is lost as soon as fueling goes away. . .even though you have your foot off the throttle after gunning it like that. . .the CP3 is still pushing fuel cause #1, the engine is still wound up, and #2, the FCA is wide open and allowing the fuel to still flow.the injectors are responding to the lowered demand, yet there is still high pressure behind them that needs to be bled off

Yeah I'm happy it ended the way it did, coulda been a big mess. Good thing is now I know about what to watchout for in everyday driving. Driving a CTD gives you one more thing to pay attention to above driving a gasser.
Glad I know now and had the close call than to be in a simular situation and my reaction time be a little slower. Had I not been standing on the brakes as hard as I was, and not reacted as quickly as I did, I am sure I would have hit her.
