not that ATS isn't a good product but, there's much better. It seems a few are really into ATS here. Before you buy though.... I'd ask you to do some research. I would wager that after you're done, you'll buy something else. One way to look at it is.... you won't find one racing or pulling truck using a ATS. ATS's trucks do but, that's about it

Gorends, although I haven't used their products... have a excellent rep in that trans game. Problem there is... you have to send them your trans !

Suncoast was my choice in the poll.
not trying to hijack a thread, BUT:

hey, triton, you picked suncoast in the poll. is that what you are running? looking at your numbers in your sig., i would like to know what you got. thanks.
yes, I have a full billet Suncoast with a ATS billet flex plate. I did have a Suncoast and still would but, there a long story behind it. See, I'm not totally against ATS... their flex plate is very nice. A quality valved VB helps a lot too.

With as heavy as my truck is and doing 20psi boosted launches in 4x4, it's held up great. Not saying it will last for ever but, for now... it hets me done the track purrty quick :-)

Hey Finny - Can you add a "Lurker" tab or something? I'm not going to vote for any of the choices, but I'd like to be able to see how the poll is turning out. By hitting the "Lurker" tab, it'll show people like me how it's going. Right now because I haven't chosen one of them it won't let me see how it's going.

Thanks !!

*Update*
OK, I took the advice from ATS on changing a wire on the plug in the back of the Co-Pilot,and sure enough, the lock up has changed. I haven't driven very far yet to determine how it's going to act in the long run, but so far, so good.

Hey Triton, You're probably right regarding the comparisons. I'm not very techno advanced, and just judgeing from Suncoast's web site, and the ATS's site, it appeared that ATS had it together. The price was simular so I rolled the dice and well, ya know which one was on top.

Ok I been reading post after post and advice after advice. Can someone tell me what would I need to run an extra 150 to 200 hp in my 07' 5.9l Auto? Do I just need a good torque converter and input shaft?
And when I put power to my truck and the tranny slips, what is it that is slipping? Can the tranny handle the power if I upgrade the converter?
I am seeing prices of up to $6k for a built tranny.
I want to use the power I have avaliable and I know I need tranny upgrades but I have no clue as to what I need.

Thanks

which ever brand you go with...

a good triple disc TQ is a good idea, that's what's slipping in your trans. ( $1250 ) That along with a billet input ( $750 ) and VB upgrade ( $200 to $400 ) and labor ( $400 to $800 " around " ) should be good. Since you have a 4x4 and if you plan to do 4x4 boosted launches... you will also need a intermediate shaft. While in there... the output might as well be changed too. Some don't change it right away because it's the easiest to change and the most likely shaft to not cause extreme damage.

Those 6K figured are correct. You can spend around 3K and have a trans good enough but, too much abuse will take it's toll whether you spend $100. or 6K.
