Default sub install

Got my sub box. Bought it from Speakle. Very nice. Now I have a question. I want to use the factory radio. does anyone know the color code of the rear speakers so that I can splice a line converter and run rca's to the amp for the sub box? Also does the radio have a remote power wire or should i go into the cigarette lighter? If any one knows please let me know as I want to install tomorrow.

Jimmy-

Hope this helps. I got the wire diagram from that merry christmas thread. The manuals from the Hemi Truck Club. HEre are a couple pics of how I spliced into the factory harness.

I am trying to think of where I tapped in to for remote power, I'm pretty sure I just used the factory harness. When i rememeber, I'll get back to you.

EDIT: Now that I look at the pics, the bottom pic shows the 4 wires for the rear speakers. The pink one is the remote power that I tapped into.

My info may be wrong or out dated but... Last I heard factory radios don't have a pre-amp signal to tap into, thus you can't run an after market amp with the factory radio. Like I said this is from days gone by so it may be outdated info, but I thought I would weigh in.

I'd be great at defusingbombs. lol. I dont know the colors off hand, I can just pick them out of the group when I see them. I ran a dedicated on/off wire for my amp. I dont like tapping into the vehicle system anymore than I have to.

That's why he said he needed the rear speaker wire colors for hooking up a line level converter. It converts seaker level inputs to RCA outputs. Most aftermarket amplifiers now have them built in. Factory radios are getting impossible to replace in some vehicles.
