Well, I have the choice of getting some use stacks from my buddys old truck. They are 6 inch stacks. Here is the questions I have:

1. Better sound straight piped or muffler?

2. Regret cutting a whole in your bed or not?

3. What can I make the box out of that covers my stacks on the bottom of the bed?

4. Do they sell these boxes already made?

Stacks look great. However do you use your bed for anything? I personally will not get them because I have my kids that like to play in the bed of the truck and would not risk burning them.

 

I put a cooler back there maybe 5 times a year and have a tool box i keep in there almost all the time...and a goose neck hitch....i am seriously considering putting them however what you are saying is what is stopping me for already doing it!

 

i thought you might get rid of that truck? do you really want to spend even more money that you won't get back?

Sharx your truck sure does sound good. I still stand by my side exit exhaust. by the way what will you get hitchhikers with if you get stacks?

If you pull a 5th wheel then you might want to think twice....if you actually are throwing black out the pipes & your towing where is all that soot gonna go?? All over your 5th wheel that's where.

I don't want thread jack, but since we're talking about stacks, where could someone get stainless/chrome 6" stacks w/ rain covers? I want the "clackety clack" at idle.


Also, don't most people get tall stacks when they tow? I know on our travel trailer my currentduals throw soot all over the front and sides during acceleration.

 

Don't gowith stacks.....Get them for me for a Christmas present!

I love stacks and some day will have some. If your gonna go stacks ya gotta go straight piped!
