ramdiesel23,
I too drove mine by the dealer today. Initial beleif is that it is missing(engine shakes same time as noise), which could be a huge problem. Might not have my vehicle for 3 weeks to a month. But, that is worst case scenario. Could be just an injector too. I will have to get a time scheduled to get it diagnosed and go from there. Let us know what happens because I am not sure we are experiencing the same noise....

I'll let you know, when I talked to the service guy earlier he didn't sound like it was anything major but who knows.

make sure the service report spells out what was fixed, replaced, etc.

that way, when it happens again, you have your own copy as proof!!

Well I feel kind of stupid. The line for the egt gauge was hitting the tranny dipstick and causing the noise. Even I could have fixed this.

well.... don't feel stupid. That is good news!!! Service manager mentioned that they are getting a few vehicles in recently with the "weird noise/knock/ping" and I don't feel that I will have that kinda news with mine, but it was a good call running it into them quick. Called the service manager here again and explained thatsince my noise coincides with an engine shake it could be bad or as easy as an injector rattle or something simple. Hope it isn't leading to the worst case scenario explained to me.

Hopefully its an easy fix. Just picked my truck up and the noise is gone. As much as people complain about the dealers, I must say that my dealer is a pleasure to work with. Probably because my family buys numerous cars from them but whatever.
