Remember this phrase: "Officer, I do not consent to any searches." Repeat as often as necessary during the conversation. That goes for searching your tool box, car trunk, any other portion of your vehicle or personal belongings where they have no business being without a warrant. If they continue to search against your protests, any evidence they may find in such a manner cannot be entered into a court of law against you.

Unless you have red diesel streaming out of your fuel tank door (meaning probable cause in plain sight), they have no right to search unless you grant them permission, and you are under no obligation whatsoever to grant it.

I don't run off-road diesel, since 99.8% of my driving is on a road of some sort, even if just a gravel county road. Plus, living in the city (for now) means I'd have to go waaay out of my way just to find it. The Constitutional principles are what matter to me. Power corrupts, and it doesn't take much for people in power to encroach upon your liberties and mine simply because they can.

That's fine, if it means I retain my rights. Sort away, sir...

Check your driver's license, many of them state that accepting their State's license IS CONSENT for searches, DUI tests, etc.

Even if so, it simply brings us back to my earlier post:
"All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void."
Marbury vs. Madison 5 US (2 Cranch) 137, 174, 176, (1803)

Aw, come on now. A peace officer, sworn to uphold the Constitution, wouldn't do such a thing simply on account of me standing on my rights, would he?
