They're a couple of the the best stacks on the market. The Smarty is a timing/duration with a little pressure downloader and the TST is a fueling/pressure box which is hard wired.
The Smarty does it's fueling down low and then the TST takes over the fuel up high. The TST is very adjustable to where you can turn on or off timing, increase fueling, adjustable torque management , adjustable rail pressure and it also has a turbo timer. Probably does a few other things too.
Some of you guys here are wondering why the Smarty has the power it does compared to boxes you already have.... it's because the torque management is removed for one and some sweet programming for another. The removed TQ management is mostly what you feel in the seat of your pants
Just remember.... you CAN NOT run a TST on a CTD with a build date of 6/06 of after, you will melt a piston ! plus, they wouldn't sell you one anyway if you told them that's the year you have.

the ECM's changed after that date. It's still a CAN-bus but, many of the signals are sent via data instead of voltage. TST never got the newer computers figured out on the box so they took it off the market for those buoild dates until they get it figured out. Word is though... it's not gonna happen. They've moved on to the 6.7's
