Default Transmission trouble

OK, today is the first time I 've had any problems with the truck, I'm going on 12500 miles since 11/26/07. I put it in gear and it takes about a second to engage. I didn't know this and gave it some throttle and jerked something nasty. Now it does it everytime I go into drive and once in a while during regular driving it will kinda slip. Any Ideas on what it might be. I will be taking it to the dealership on Wednesday.

I would probably say your bands need adjusted, especially since the jerking happened.

I have to ask the obvious but, you did check the fluid level ?, that's what it sounds like. Being as new as it is, that's usual to have trans problems already. You may also have a flash out for your truck that could take care of it. Be sure to ask the dealer about that.

Thanks I feel that it is way way way toooooo early to have transmission problems. I have not even pulled a trailer yet. Heaviest load has been about 1800 lbs. 90% highway miles Will go ahead and check the fluid before I go to the Dealer.

So what did the dealer say about this tranny issue? Is it a auto trans?

Mine is in the shop right now for a similar problem 1-2 slipping back and forth. My 98.5 would do that when it would set for a few days, I would put it in neutral and let the torque converter fill up. But yours is brand spankin new

Not to highjack the thread, but what ever came out of this? Mine does this a lot, took it to the dealer twice and they say it "shifts normal".[sm=confused06.gif]
