Default 2007 Ram Security on

Hey, I am new here. Can anyone help? My Ram is only 1 1/2 months old and was running great until this morning. I went to start it and all the indicators come on, radio on but it won't turn over and the security light stays lit. Any ideas? The manual says it would be a problem withe electronics but what problem? It only has 3800 miles on it.

Thanks,

Dave

Maybe a problem with the security key. Did you try your other key?

Otherwise, you'll probably just have to call the road assistance number in your owner's manual to get it towed in to the dealer.

Try disableing the security system by putting it in Valete mode. Turn the key on and of tree times and the horn will honk twice. You are now in valet mode and security is disabled. See if that works then you'll at least be able to drive it to the dealer. If not, it may be your key fob is bad?

I'd say the computer lost the codeing for your key, only the dealer can fix this, if you can do what buzzy said and get the computer to go into vallet mode that would be your best option.

I know this may sound crazy but, unhook BOTH battery cables. Wait 3 minutes, then touch the battery cables together. This will reset all the modules on your truck. Hook cables back up and see if it will start........Just make sure when you touch the cables to each other, that neither one is still hooked to battery.

Thanks for the info! I disconnected both positive cables and let it sit for 3 min and did not touch them together. It started right up and both keys work now.

Appreciate the help!

Dave
