I have an 07.5 1 Ton Quad DRW with 6.7. I do a lot of city and hwy mileageand havebeen averaging 550 -560 per tank. Hand calculated that is about 16.5 MPG. It has gotten better the more broke in the engine gets. Hopefully it just keeps getting better. I did get 599 on an all hwy trip on I-10 = 17.62 mpg's But we don't get to stay on the interstate all the time now do we.

Hello,

I was thinking about buying ablack ram, auto laramie. How many miles are you guys getting on a full tank of gas?
I suspect you won't drive too far on a full tank of gas. [sm=confused06.gif]

I am new to this forum also, I have a new 08 6.7 with 5,500 miles on it. I only get 10-12 around town. I put 33" Toyo's on it so I probably get another %10 better so i'd say11-13 in town. On the highway at 60 Mph I get 18mpg, at 70MPH i only get 13mpg. With my 33' toy hauler, I only get a pathetic 7-8 MPG. Very dissapointed. I would do a chip if it would help with mileage enough to justify it.

Thanks for welcoming me to dodge forum. I really appreciate all the info that everyone has been providing me. I've currently started looking around and I like both 07 and 08 trucks but now it just comes down to a 5.9 or a 6.7 and I'm leaning more towards a 5.9. I currently have found a pretty nice one but it doesnt have a sunroof and I really wanted a sunroof but cant find everything your looking for I guess. Hope to talk to you guys soon and let you know what I get!

Default dont buy any dodge unless you can live with 13 mpg av

dont buy any new dodge truck unless you can live with 13 mpg max av, i own a 2007 hemi 4x4 1/2 ton that has not seen a day past 11.9, and a new 08 2500 diesel that hangs around 11.9, so go figure! we are in a fuel crisis and dodge cant make any thing that goes past this, now my brother has a new f-150 that will bust 17 mpg, i say if you want milage look toward ford

I'm just asking because gas is going up so I wanted to figure out if I should purchase a 5.9 because it gets better fule mileage or a 6.7. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Default Fuel mileage Statistics

I purchased a 2005 Dodge Ram Laramie 3500 , Auto, and have also tracked mileage from day 1. I drive mostly city 70 city/ 30 Hwy.
The worst mileage towing 6000lbs Fifth Wheel 13.8 mpg, The best highway empty 23.6 mpg.
All time average 17.5. Keep in mind that this average is down due to the fact that I drive 70% city.
Hope this helps. I have this on a excel spreadsheet if anyone would like to see it.
I hand calculate the mileage by filling the tank to the top of the filler neck driving to destination refill to the filler neck, documenting mileage on fuel receipt, complete calculations and enter them onto spreadsheet.

I have an 07 dually with 5.9 stock excpet for programmer and k and N air filter. Before adding the chip I was only getting 16 or so. Now I'm getting almost 21 on the high and that is hand calculated. I also use drew's brew. That alone will get you a mile to the gallon more. The programmer got me 1 to 3 miles to gallon more. Depends on how you drive it.

Same here. i have 05 5.9L cummins 2500 with only a single 5" turbo back exhuast and about 85000 on it and im averaging about 20-22 mpg. impresses alot of people with gas mileage.

Default poor millage 07 and 08

some posts in reply to bad milage refer to 05,s & 06,s they are night and day to 07 and 08, there is a big differance, 05 and 06 is the last year's of the good milage, 07 and 08 went down hill, as far as people saying they have 07 and 08 gas or diesel getting 17-21 either you cant calculate milage or you are reseting your computer when you hit the highway and running out a whole tank on the cruse, because i know it wont get that on am avrage, i live in a small town of 300 people and over 1/4 have dodge gas or diesel 07 and 08's and Everybody eays the same 11-13 on hemi or diesel on the avrage, unless you reset your computer and drive out a tank non stop that is the only time i have ever seen 17mpg on my 07 hemi or my 08 diesel
