Wax SUCKS!!
Ok, someone posted asking what wax you guys use. I posted that I use Turtle wax "ICE" and that I was happy with it.
Well I waxed my truck today and it SUCKED!! I swear it felt like it was 75f here today and 100% sunshine. I washed it real good and then proceded to wax the whole truck. So I got the entire truck all paint, windows, bumpers, plastic (yes you can wax plastic with this stuff, leaves no residue), ect . So it is suposed to dry within 5 minutes but I waited 2 hours and it still wasn't dry. I had me and my wife both going around the truck a total of 4 times ( thats 4 x 2= 8 times for one person), first time around just soaked up some of the exess wax and smear it all around again, get new rag and and go around again like before and each time gets a little better untill the wax was off and truck was shiny. But the hood, front fenders, top, and a few spots, look like crap. Those areas are rough and looks almost like an old oxidized hood.
So looks like I am gonna have to use clay bar and strip the wax off those areas and redo it next weekend if it's warm enough.
I will not be using this product again!!
Better yet, I will take it and have a Pro. hand wax the damn thing for me.

I've got the Ice wash and wax. Never had a problem; but it was in the 80s each time I used it. hmm wonder how much the temp had to play with it's performace.
I had to give mine a wash today too
Some mud-puddles just have to be stomped in

But it was waaaay to cold to even think about waxing it. You ever gotten so cold that when you get into a hot shower afterwards the water feels cold? [&:]
The hubby got to hear something that I'm sure most of you will never hear "Honey can you get the truck clay barred and waxed for my anniversary present?"

Come on Buzzy it isn't -30 or anything
just in the low 40's.
But yes there are a couple indoor detail shops in town. Gonna cost me a pretty penny but I don't wann 1/2 a$$ it. If I'm gonna clay bar & wax it I want it to be a GOOD job.

I use Mother's paste wax. A little more elbow grease, but a darn nice finish. In between wax jobs I use Protectall, spray it on, wipe it off, works real good. Started using it on my fifth wheel and I like it. It takes 1 1/2 hours to do the trailer with protectall compared with 6+ hours with the paste wax. Can get the Proctectall at wally world or most rv supply places.
