Default Damn Duramax

Last Thursday afternoon I was heading up to Erie PA with some friends. I was running highway the whole time and was tached up to around 75-80 mph. After a while I came up on this enclosed car hauler that was in the passing lane trying to pass a tractor trailer. Once he got past I saw it was a Duramax and that the trailer was around a 35-40 ft trailer. Of course i blew past him! After about a mile I look in my left mirror and see a big *** cloud of smoke and the see a trailer beside my truck. The damn duramax was back. By the time I finally caught him i was pushing 110 mph. When i looked over at him it was this old man and he was laughing his *** off! That was when i decided i had to get my new airdog fuel system and the quadzilla adrenaline!

Just to add to the story my truck has 100 hp over stock injectors and the edge ez on it already. It created 396 hp on the dyno. That duramax had to have had some work done to it.

There is a lot of power that can be squeezed out of a duramax. They can use EFI live and get a crap load of power out of them with nothing more than a laptop.
Just take comfort in the fact that if he pushes that truck like that, it won't last anywhere near as long as your Cummins

I hope he can afford the bill replace the head gaskets.

The next time you see a guy pulling a 40ft trailer and driving like that, stay as far aaway from hom as possible. It's not a matter of IF it's gonna happen, it's a matter of WHEN

No ZHIT!! Let him shred one of the trailer tires or over heat a bearing and see what happens!! That trailer wieghs more than the truck, let it start bucking and your in a whole heap a trouble. I would have pulled him over a did a citizen arrest!!

yea not to mention his EGT's were probably way up there. and let's see with mods you can easily hit 1600 farenheit on a diesel. let's see the duramax is made of aluminum. well aluminum melts right around that temperature sooooo...................

I love the way a cloud of black and a faster speedo can make us all bust out our checkbooks and do things we were only think'n of

Buzzy didn't you just get your tail handed to you...and that brought about what a new exhaust

Mayfair didn't you just add a box?? hmm wasn't there a story behind that one too

We are all such adrenaline junkies....it's good to have a support system in place for us though isn't it.

Yes is did and it's even worse for me because I got it handed to me by a fellow CTD owner!! So the bar is set pretty high for me right now.

Honest to God the only reason I got my Edge was to hopefully help me with my fuel mileage. I've still never set it to level 5, and only in level 4 once to see if my mileage got any better. It seems like setting it on level 2 with a sub setting of 4 is gettin gme the best mileage I'm going to get ( 14.5 mpg ) with this winter mix. I'll start testing it again in the spring when the winter mix is gone.

I'm not really about making my truck go fast, I'm more aboutkeeping it around forever andgetting the best mileage I possibly can out of it.
