I agree with Bob, if you do your own service and work that you are confident you can do. Save the money but more important get the piece of mind that you did it right and you know that your filter was in fact changed. on my 06 Hemi I did no thave time for one oil change and I took it to Brakes plus. told them I need 5-20 for mds and told them full synthetic. I work 4 blocks from there. I picked it up at lunch and when I got to work looked at the repair orde, it said 5 quarts of 10/30. I was upset so I went to my truck pulled the dipstick and it was low (takes over 7 quarts) I took it back, asked them why they used a wrong grade. The manager told me that 5-20 does not exist. we got into it. I got a fresh change with 5-20 that someone had to go buy.

A $3.00 plastic filter wrench at Wally World would have saved that head ache.

At least I think we are talking about the same thing. The CRAP I am talking about is the big plastic cap that fits like a socket over the end of the filter. It may work on the one I installed my self but it aint gonna budge the factory one or the one that "Pedro" tightened on at the dealer.

it's not your donny. . it is the pics dave posted that I am refering to.
oh, and yea, the first filter change on my truck was insainly tight. . .I'm wondering if Cummins coated the engine with some sort of sealant before they shipped it to the salito plant in Mexico.

Update, after replacing the "defective" parts, the truck started and ran....for now. Waiting to see for how long...
"All I did was change the oil and now the truck has no oil pressure, must be a defect somewhere"
UH.. OK.. Yeah
